Numbers for iPhone - Create and save a spreadsheet

Create a new spreadsheet

When you create a new spreadsheet, you choose either a blank template to which you can add tables, charts, text, and other objects, or an Apple-designed template that has placeholder elements including text, tables, and images. These templates, which are designed for purposes like personal finance, business, and education, give you a great starting point, and you can modify them however you like.

Create a new spreadsheet

  1. In the spreadsheet manager, tap Create New.

  2. Tap a template for your spreadsheet.

  3. Do any of the following to customize your spreadsheet:

    • Tap a table cell to delete placeholder content and add your own.

    • Tap User uploaded file to add other tables, text boxes, shapes, and images.

    • Drag tables and objects on the sheet to arrange them.

Save and rename a spreadsheet

Numbers automatically saves your spreadsheet as you work so you don’t have to. You can rename the spreadsheet or make a copy of it in the spreadsheet manager.

Rename a spreadsheet

  1. In the spreadsheet manager, tap a spreadsheet’s name.

  2. Type a new name, then tap Done.

To quickly delete the current name, tap the “x” in the text field.

Duplicate a spreadsheet

To create a new copy of a spreadsheet, duplicate the original spreadsheet.

  1. In the spreadsheet manager, tap Edit.

  2. Tap the spreadsheets you want to duplicate.

To deselect a spreadsheet, tap it.

  3. Tap User uploaded file, then if you selected more than one spreadsheet, tap Duplicate Spreadsheets.

The duplicate spreadsheets appear with the word copy appended to their names.

I hope this information helps ....

I have created a .xls spreadsheet in Numbers that I would like to have show up on my iPhone's homescreen so I can tap on it and edit/add data to it. Is there any way for me to do this?
