Camera not working after Yosemite Install 10.10.1 Macbook Pro early 2008

After installing Yosemite the camera does not work or even show up in system report. It appears not to be recognized at all by the OS. I have tried all of the suggested reset processes but no change. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), just installed

Your OS X Yosemite (10.10.1) is not the latest version.

Even if you have already updated to 10.10.2 by a different method, do the following:

• Restart Mac, repair disk permissions, then download and install OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Combo Update.

• Repair permissions again following the restart that completes the Combo Update. Then try your camera again.

Then, having already also tried all the troubleshooting suggestions, "... contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service."
