Q: remove restriction on specific apps

The restrictions, as implemented are not very useful. As a parent I would like to set up Apple TV to restrict purchases in iTunes, and restrict content that is not appropriate for children. Locking out all apps without entering the same passcode that implements the same restrictions that I would like enforced makes the passcode useless - or Apple TV in general useless since they can not have access to the apps without the password.  I have configured Apple TV to hide all apps except Netflix. Netflix has a child setting that allows children to only see appropriate content. However, to access Netflix they need the password. Once they have the password, they can remove any restriction. If Apple TV implemented the same G or PG restriction in Netflix, or simply locked the Netflix app to the child account (without entering the password), that would be much better.

    Dear dcwilliams,

    I'm Replying from Brazil, then please apologize my English and spelling.

    First of all setup your pass code. Going to Settings > General > Restrictions

    • Turn on your pass code;
    • Chose a four digits pass code;
    • At Purchase & Rental, chose "Ask"

    From this moment and beyond your rentals and purchases are protected by a pass code. Try to rent a movie, should be working.

    After that, go to Settings > Main Menu

    • Your four digits code will be asked. Insert it, please;
    • Navigate down, until find Netflix, and change from: "ask" to "Show". Show = No pass code required. Ask = Pass code required; Hide = Do not will appear at your home screen.

    I hope that information helps you.

    Best Regards,

    Rafael
