iPad Air 2: Touchscreen loses tracking and Touches
FYI, I've been able to replicate a touch tracking issue on every single iPad Air 2 that I have tried. Those in 2 different Apple stores, and those at a Verizon Wireless store. If you open any app with a large scrollable menu, like Settings, scroll down a little, then touch and scroll the menu up and down repetitively at a rate of at least 2 cycles per second, you will see that the iPad loses tracking of your finger. In fact, at the moment that it loses tracking, the entire touchscreen becomes unresponsive for about 4 seconds. It occurs on every single iPad Air 2 that I have tried, and those that Apple engineering has tried.
Also, it will randomly just not register touches. This happens quite often in the Music player, and the Podcast player, if I need to pause something that is currently playing. It is not something that I can easily replicate, but it does happen quite often, taking 4-5 touches until the iPad finally recognizes the touch. I am only using these two applications as examples, as the issue occurs in all applications. Initially, I thought that I was me, but after a few days I realized that it's the devices, and not me, as my iPad 3, iPhone 5s and iPhone 6+ do not have any touch issues what-so-ever. The iPad Air (original) does not have this issue either.
I was able to return the device to Verizon, as they told me that they have been following several touch screen complaints and I was able to demonstrate the issue for them on every iPad Air 2 device that they had in the store. I'm hoping that Apple will fix this, as I definitely liked the device, with exception to the touchscreen issues.
