My iPhone won't let me close certain YouTube videos

I had that problem on YouTube and couldn't close the video- all I got was an immovable gray screen with a sad computer face staring at me! After struggling for some time..I eventually went to the Apple Store and a rep showed me the secret in 30 seconds! You 'double click' the home button then swipe from left to right to get rid of all the many videos (and other pages from other apps )you thought you'd already shut. Eventually they are all gone and youtube is back and running! Hope I explained this okay. If not, ask the Apple rep. It takes seconds to sort.. when u know how! Good luck! 😊

I've only recently been having this same problem on my iPhone 5s. I have to Clear History and Website data to return to the browser until it happens again.

This is happening to my 5s as well with Youtube vids clicked from some website links.

Same problem. Running 8.1.2. There seems to be no fix other than restarting my device or clearing all content and history which ***** if you want to... You know...use your browser. I've found this to be by far the buggiest iOS to date and I'm dissapointed in Apple Entertainment. Maybe they should go back to being innovators instead of an "entertainment" company. Maybe that would help prevent such crap software. iPhone 6 and iOS 8 will be my last for sure. I'll be making the Android switch within a year.

There also the Chrome browser option instead of Safari.

I came from Windows Phone and that OS was pretty fast and intuitive too when it started. Lately it was getting more bloated with the WP 8.1 update. I think iOS is still less buggy that WP8.1.

I Have this problem as well, is this a iOS problem or is this a phone hardware problem. Could an Apple rep please respond to this post?

This is extremely annoying and happens to me fairly regularly. I hope this is resolved soon. It seems like a very obvious bug and I'm shocked that it hasn't been resolved. APPLE - PLEASE RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

Nobody wants to have RESET THEIR PHONE JUST TO CLOSE A VIDEO. Come on now.

Why are you telling us? Contact Apple about it.

to exit the video screen touch the phone as if you are zooming out of a photo with your thumb and index finger.

I'm having the same problem with the latest version of Safari on iPhone5s. I cannot close youtube videos occasionally. I get around it by either restarting the phone (shut down and restart), or clearing all Safari data, but it's a pain to deal with!
