I don't use keychain (because I started using LastPass before keychain had the ability to sync among multiple devices and because I need to use multiple devices including Windows) so you may get a better answer from someone that knows more about it. However, I have FileVault turned on on my Mac. With that on, nothing on my Mac will be accessible if it is lost or stolen. It's something you may want to consider. The keychain is encrypted with your login password. If someone steals the computer, he won't be able to access anything in the keychain unless he can guess the password (which is possible only if you choose a weak password) or if the computer is logged in to your account with the screen unlocked. To make sure that doesn't happen, always lock the screen or log out when you're away from the machine, and use a password that can't be guessed.
