Q: iWeb Question

My iWeb program does not appear on line as it does in the program.  Any idea why this is?

Don't really understand what you mean by "My iWeb program does not appear on line as it does in the program".

Nothing is online in iWeb - when you open the domain file it opens in iWeb the program itself and it is not online - nothing is online until you publish it.

If you want to see it online as you say, then you need to publish the website and for that you need to register a domain name via a domain registrar or through a hosting company and then pay for a hosting package and then publish your site and then you will see it online.

Nothing to do with iWeb is online until you publish it.

Other than that if you want another answer to your question, then you need to be clearer in what you are asking because it does not make any sense.

Sorry.  I thought I was clear.  My web page, built with iWeb does not appear on the internet in the format it appears on the iWeb program.  I have a registered domain name and a hosting company and when I see the web site 'on line' it is not formatted the way it appears in the iWeb program.  Lines are moved over, pictures are covering other information.

I hope that is clear enough for you.

Try clearing your browser's cache ((Command+Option+E for Safari) and reload the page.

    Thank you, Old Toad.

That fixed most of the problems.  I'll keep working to get the rest of the web page to line up.

To make sure iWeb is creating the page correctly publish your site to a folder on your hard drive and open it with your browser from there.  If all is well then there's something going wrong with the upload to the server. If it looks OK locally try using the File ➙ Publish Entire Site to replace all files online with the new ones.

Or use a 3rd party FTP client like Cyberduck , Transmit or YummyLite to delete the current site folder and upload the new one from your hard drive.

Help!  I have a 2009 Macbook with own with 3.0.4 version which when seeking updates says it is current.  My issue is that I need to DELETE SITE and the DELETE SITE IS GRAYED OUT.

Notes:  System is currently operating OSX VERSION 10.9.5, website is publishable so I would think it could be unpublished and deleted.

Any thoughts on how to get this site deleted?  Can/should I just drag the entire application to the trash or would I end up with all of these files clogging my storage space.

Are you referring to deleting a site within the Domain file that iWeb uses?  Like in this screenshot?

How are you going about trying to delete it?  In the screenshot I just Control (right) - clicked on the site and chose Delete Site from the contextual menu.

The "Delete Site" option in the pulldown menu is grayed out.  This is the only location I can find to delete it. Screen Shot 2014-12-03 at 2.07.40 PM.png

Of course you can't delete the site as it's the only site in the domain file.  Create a new, empty site there and then you'll be able to delete the current site.

"Of course you can't" (unless like me your dumb enough to haven't a clue that you can't, LOL)  THANK YOU FOR THE SIMPLE SOLUTION TO A STUPID PROBLEM.  Kinda cracks me up that in the iWeb Help section they don't say what you said.  Thanks for being a smart Old Toad!!!

If I hadn't seen your screenshot of your domain file it may have taken us a much longer time to figure this out. Thank heavens for screenshots.
