Loner T,

I did this fix:

sudo fdisk -e /dev/disk0

p

setpid 4

07

flag 4

p

write

y

When I started Windows all I had was a black screen with a blinking underscore "_"

I went back to my MAC and try it again... but instead of "setpid 4" and "flag 4" I did "setpid 1" and "flag 1"

Now when I boot into Windows/BootCamp  is saying "Missing Operating System" and OS X is not bootable.

Also Macintosh HD is gone from Disk Utility when I go into recovery mode and check Disk Utility...

I there any REMEDY for this? I have a lot of data that I need to recover...

ANY help is really appreciated!!!!!!!!

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

No worries. I do not want you to lose your data either.

If you can access Recovery (the spinning globe), you can install OSX on an external drive. You may get an older version (say Lion - as your Reinstall screen shot shows), but once you have Lion installed, upgrade it to Yosemite (which is a free Upgrade - http://www.apple.com/support/osx/upgrade/ ). Once you have Yosemite installed, install GPT Fdisk.

The screen shot of the 'Missing Operating system...' indicates you have a unibody Macbook Pro. If you have a second Mac you can also use Target Disk Mode (OS X Yosemite: Transfer files between two computers using target disk mode) to recover the GPT on the broken mac, as long as you have the appropriate cables/adapters.

Let me know how you want to proceed.

    Loner T,

Sorry I have not been able to get back to you. I was on travel and had no computer...

Here is what I have done so far... I installed Yosemite on an external drive (SD card) and GPT Fdisk on a USB. My mac is now bootable (I guess from the SD card).

    How should I proceed now?

Can you post the output of

    diskutil list

    diskutil cs list

when booted from the SD Card?

You can also install GPT Fdisk on the SD Card, you do not need two separate removable media devices. Either is sufficient.

The only bootable option is OS X Yosemite (of my SD card)

I installed GTP Fdisk on the SD card and ran the commands requested, here is the output:

Can you post a text version of

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

    How did the disk0 become a FDisk_Partition_scheme?

If GPT gives and error try

    sudo gdisk /dev/disk0

I'm not sure why disk0 became a FDisk_Partition_scheme. When I installed GPT Fdisk and it asked me where did I wanted to installed it I choose the SD card, that's it!

My mac is extremely slow I guess is because I booted of the SD Card....

Here is the output of all commands:

If you choose '2 - GPT' and 'p' what does it show?

OSX will be slow from SD Card.

OS X is now bootable. Now how can I use the unallocated space (100GB I created before all of this happened) for BootCamp and make it bootable again?

The only supported method is to backup your files from current bootcamp, use BCA to remove Windows, and reinstall Windows with a new size and then restore you data files.

There is a commercial tool called Winclone which will let you create a backup. Once you have a backup, use BCA to remove the current Bootcamp, and restore the Winclone image to a larger partition.

At least OX X is operational now and all my data appears to be intact!!! I really appreciate your help on this.

I will try what you mention above and let you know...

Question... Should I make the above marked space (in the picture that with the RED selection) as "free space" and use it for bootcamp?
