mac mini 2014 detect lcd monitor problem

Hi.


about 2 weeks ago, I bought new mac mini 2014 and dp - vga connector.

I have mitsubishi rdt179s lcd monitor.(17') , d-sub port + dvi-d port.

I must to use d-sub port.


when I open display menu, my monitor spec is different.

only " display 13.9 800x600 ".

how can I fix this? to 17' and 1280x1024...

hey egoiCat I had a similar problem with my Mac Mini 2006 model running Yosemite 10.10.3. This might be a bit late but i think i solved my issue.


In System Preferences>Displays>Display

- select the 'Scaled" option

- hold the "Option" key. It will give you a larger list of screen resolution choices.

- you should be able to select 1280x1024.


In "About This Mac", under Displays tab, it still says 13.9-inch (800x600) but I was able to change the resolution on the screen.

Let me know if that works.
