Can someone point me to where I can buy a copy of 10.4.11?


Just bought a mac G4 tower without hard drive and would like to get it up and running.

Model is Mac G4 with 500mhz CPU and 256mb ram


Any pointers I would grateful for.

Apple no longer sell it. It's available in Amazon (the link is to the USA version) at rather excessive prices. You could also try eBay or independent retailers. I'm afraid that since it is long obsolete it has a rarity value which is likely to drive the price up.


Be careful because there is a much cheaper one in Amazon but it is an upgrade requiring you to already have 10.3 - you need to be sure that it is a full installed, and the retail version not the disks shipped with a Mac as these latter won't install on yours.

Restore Tiger 10.4 & Leopard 10.5 DVDs may be available from Apple by calling 1(800) 275-2273. Have your serial number ready. Have your credit card ready too. There may be a small fee.
