Podcast cover art must be at least 1400 X 1400 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests.

The image which matters is the one in the 'itunes:image' tag in the top section of the feed, between the 'channel' tag and the first 'item' tag. The URL of the image thus referenced is

http://ammado.podomatic.com/images/default/podcast-1-600.png

This image is 600 x 600 px which is why it's being rejected. You have an image within the 'itunes:image' tag within your episode's 'item' tag, and this image is 1400 x 1400 px and would be suitable. The image thus referenced appears only in a very small version in the Search results where that returns individual episodes.

Im getting the same issue. Basically my hosting company provides the feed. I tried with both upload a picture and not uploading a picture. I still get this error. Any clue why? The url is http://psychic-reading.absolutelypsychic.com/xml.php?feed_id=1412

Your feed does not contain any image: nor indeed 'itunes:summary' or 'itunes:subtitle' tags for the episodes - these latter are not fatal, though they should be there, but the image is required and must be 1400 x 1400 px minimum, RGB, JPG or PNG, and less than 500kB.

hey Roger I'm having a similar problem and I've been looking through all the discussions on this and fixed all the things I could see I did wrong after reading them, but I keep getting the "Podcast cover art must be at least 1400 X 1400 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests." message.

I'm sure I did it right as the cover image is 1400 x 1400 and I'm also sure I'm using the right link for it.

In fact the image URL given in your feed is

Both this and the URL you gave lead not to an image but to a Photobucket page containing the image, which obviously is no going to work. The various other links they provide all lead back to the same web page. You have to provide a direct URL to the actual image.

Photobucket is still persisting in presenting this image in a web page, with advertisements and links at the bottom. I can't advise on what you have to do to get them to serve the image purely as an image, other than finding another host.

I'm having a similar problem. We are setting up a new podcast feed for the Library, we've tested it and it works fine. But when we submit the new podcast to iTunes, we get the same "Podcast cover art must be at least 1400 X 1400 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests." error message.

I've read through a bunch of forums, but can't see what we're doing wrong.
We've reformatted the image and have tried PNGand JPG formats, but continue to get the same error. The current image is 1400x1400, RGB, JPG and is 172KB

Your 'itunes:image' tag is not properly constructed. It reads:

<itunes:image>http://www.spl.org/Audio/AuthorReadings_podcast-coverJP1400x1400.jpg</itunes:image>

It should read:

<itunes:image href="http://www.spl.org/Audio/AuthorReadings_podcast-coverJP1400x1400.jpg" />
