Aug 18, 2015 4:41 PM in response to peejay5410by DLThompson,My husband and I were both experiencing the same problem on each of our ATT iPhone 6 in Missouri. We occasionally had problems with reception on our previous iPhones, but nothing to the extent of what it has been lately. Followed the suggestion posted earlier about switching the LTE to data only, and that seems to have done the trick, at least for now. I spoke to my husband on my phone in the most troublesome spot in the house, and it was fine. Will post an update if the problem comes back.

Sep 20, 2015 11:49 PM in response to peejay5410by debmuso,I'm in the UK with a 5 bar signal booster so no signal issues but still have the same call receiver problem. Have tried all of the suggestions here but the problem is not consistently solved. Has anyone found any other fixes yet?

Sep 22, 2015 2:46 AM in response to debmusoby Lbarron,This happened to me after updating my iPhone 6 to iOS 9 - voices garbled. I live in Oregon and use Verizon. I first tried changing my LTE settings but it didn't help. Then I did a restart (also called a soft reset and it fixed my problem. I used the following soft reset steps:
Soft Reset
- Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears.
- Drag the slider on the screen.
- Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If this doesn't work you can try a hard reset but you may loose your settings and/or data so do a backup first. The restart/soft reset worked for me.
Hard Reset
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for about ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Note: The “Sleep/Wake” button is located on the right side of the iPhone 6. It is located on the top of the iPhone 5 and lower models.
The above steps should not erase any data from the device under normal conditions, but if the device is corrupted you may lose some settings or data.

Sep 22, 2015 3:37 PM in response to DLThompsonby Janicefromjeffcity,I know how you feel. I got my iphone 6 plus & immediately my husband was complaining I was cutting out, garbled, sounded like I was drowning etc. I was on the phone with AT&T & Apple many times. We did soft resets, hard resets, taking it back to factory settings, nothing helped. When I was about to give up & ask for a replacement phone, I remembered someone mentioning issues with the LTE network. I decided to call AT&T once more, explained my issue again & was told to go to:
Settings
Cellular
Enable LTE
MAKE SURE "DATA ONLY IS CHECKED"
Since I made this change, my husband or anyone else has said another word about me sounding garbled, cutting out or sounded like I was drowning.

Oct 15, 2015 10:57 AM in response to Janicefromjeffcityby Budsrwiser,Me and the wife bought brand new Iphone 6S's out right. both of us are having this garbled voice problem, people cannot understand us. This enable LTE is in the settings menu, but voice or data only is not. Had no problems with our last Iphones. We're about to return these Pieces and get some Samsung's.

Nov 14, 2015 8:33 PM in response to Janicefromjeffcityby gerry-greenwich,I have the same problem. It happens using the phone's microphone or a bluetooth headset, so it has to be a software bug or problem with the carrier (AT&T). I was wondering if it was related to the capability to do voice calls over the WiFi network. I have that feature turned off. Yesterday i tried turning off WiFi while on a call and did not experience the intermittent transmission problem. I wonder if anyone has thoughts on this. I will try the LTE "Data Only" fix as well.

Nov 24, 2015 3:48 AM in response to peejay5410by Donethat,Yes same problem since upgrading to the iphone 6s Plus. I have gone back to my iphone 5 running the same OS version and it works beautifully and people can understand me. I connect through Three and they're telling me to restore the phone back to it's delivery status and test it.
Looking at this forum it would appear to be a problem with the phone

Nov 27, 2015 5:27 AM in response to tannedtoesrhotby AdelAls,Hello everyone. This is Adel from Saudi. Was in California two weeks ago and since i bought this iphone 6 S , this is the 2nd issue i faced and this is quite disappointing as it looks like iphones are unreliable anymore. it started two days ago when i make a call and people start telling me that they are unable to hear me .. Tried everything exxept for the LTE as it's unavailable as a feature with my carrier however , turning off the bluetooth fixed it... Have to check with it's ffixed for once and for all or it's just temprorary: Sad thing is i wont be able to use my iwatch.

Jan 25, 2016 6:44 PM in response to JSF111by Silkie,I am on my at least 3rd Apple iPhone 6 from Apple. Had battery issues at first. Gave me brand new phones. That seemed to have gone away. Now I just experiences what you are talking about, garbled, cutting out, can't hear caller, they can't hear or understand me. Thought it was speaker BUT, Siri works fine, and when I listen to a voicemail, it is also fine, crystal clear. Tried a couple of things - can't use the phone as I can't call out on it or receive a call due to the cutting out/garbled noise.
Going to be putting in a 'customer support' issue at the genius bar to see what happens there. I have Verizon and my phone is showing full bars. Really don't want to change to newest phone yet as I've heard from our MacMedia people there is couple issues with the new iPhone 7. So I'm kind of stuck without a phone at moment and I really do need it.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Apr 26, 2016 1:43 PM in response to peejay5410by agilliam,I just got the new IPhone 6s Plus and have had it 2 days. Everytime I have made a call I get the same issue. People say they cant hear me. I have an Otter Box Defender on it and I have taken it out and they still say they cant hear me its muffled or garbled. Have you made any headway?
I'm hoping someone can help me, as the local T-Mobile store ***** and they don't know anything. Their supposed IPhone GURU, couldn't even tell me if you could view web pages in Safari using desktop view. Told me I had to download Chrome or firefox. I found on the phone it has desktop view built into Safari by hitting the page with arrow up it pops up a menu with that there. Pretty basic and couldn't explain to me.
