My iPad 2 has lost cellular strength since the 8.1.1 update, yes its running little smoother, but now almost useless on a train, bus or inside anywhere. My phone is with the same carrier and my iPad is consistently now 2 to 3 signal bars lower in reception strength side by side with my phone. This means if the signal is not full strength (3 dots on the phone) the iPad is is 1 bar (useless for data), or constantly 'searching', or 'no service'. On 8.1 this was not an issue, though useable it ran a little choppy from time to time.

Resets, Reboots have made no improvements. Seems what Apple giveth they taketh away again. Just about had it with this iOS 8 thing full stop, has been most unpleasant in every way for this device.

No two backups the same

I was advised by Apple support to restore iPad through I tunes

I did this but all problems still existed

However I discovered the restore downloaded Bing browser and I used this to add my reply which I could nor do with Safari as I had used my windows desktop originally to post.

Using Safari is diabolical very slow and eratic but using Bing appears to be lot faster near original speed.

I believe Safari is broken will continue to use other browser and try using Safari to see if Apple can fix

Now I'm confused. You have, or have not restored the iPad using an iTunes or iCloud backup? If you have, I'm telling you to NOT do that. So long as you back up first, you can always do that later. For now, try restoring iOS as a NEW device without restoring your backup. This will give you a clean installation of iOS without the baggage of your data. See if everything works ok like that.

Sorry if i confused you

Two ipads running ios8.1,1 with identical faults. Will not touch old i pad at present until i resolve new one

Only restored my new i pad which is one month old.

Restored ios as new device without restoring back up as both tech support and yourself suggested

Still is slow to load even by using Bing Browser as previously posted

Face time does not load properly due to slow loading

I believe it times out

Diagnostics say stacks+ timed , stacks+ preferences, log - aggregated and appear to be miles long

Still need help to resolve

Thanks

Today I decided by myself that the slow problem was with wifi

I have reset my modem

when I looked up how to do this the page said that if you are a fibre subscriber you must switch off for at least 20 minutes for fibre to reset.

iPad now appears to work as it should

I hope this may assist others

If I do have a reoccurance I will repost .

Thanks to those who helped
