MplayerX White Screen

I had same problem setting up a new Mac, and thanks to the answers below I resolved it speedily. One thing though, Apple charge £1.99 for an out-of-date malfunctioning app which can be got for free from soundforge, which incidentally doesn't carry the crapware you get if you download from the apps home site. Luckily I got my money back from Apple as I was inside the 7 day limit, but it doesn't seem as though Apple's complaints page allows you to both get a refund and complain in detail. I would like Apple to stop selling software that doesn't work properly.

I had the same issue. Tried uninstalling & installing again. Nothing worked out.

Then instead of getting MPlayer X from App Store, searched from their site and downloaded & installed the player. Basically, copied downloded "MPlayerX.app" in "Applications" folder and replaced with existing one.

Now, fullscreen works without any issue.

One thing to note is, the downloaded player's version is 1.0.22.1 whereas the one from App Store had 1.0.14.

Also, the new player has "Check For Updates" menu as well.

Be careful using the installer from MPlayerX website or elsewhere - "recommended" quick install will change your default search provider and homepage to Yahoo, and install crapware/adware on your Mac, including MacKeeper (worst Mac crapware ever). This reminds me of having a Windows PC and is one of the many reasons I prefer Mac. MPLayerX is a great player though, it's too bad they must resort to this to earn money.
