"No cities found" in Dashboard Weather Widget

really wish they'd get this fixed. seems pretty simple compared to some of the other things they do. why not fix it after so long?

Both the Weatherbug and Yahoo/Weather Channel widget are offline.

Thanks for this thread. I have been wondering if it was El Capitan or something else on my computer. Glad to know that it is out there...other's servers. I sure wish that they would fix it however so that I can use it once again. Hopefully soon.

Same here. It's a recurring issue from what I've found. Weather still works in the Notification Center, though it's not nearly as convenient. 😝

Not working here either after my short adventure under the "graces" of OS X 10.11.3 and now back on 10.6.8

I concur, the OS X version is immaterial, apparently. Ironically, if you look at the datestamps on widget's code, even in El Capitan, it's quite old. I'm surprised it's lasted this long.

At least staying on 10.6.8 makes life a bit "easier" and more stable (personal thought).

It is sure taking them awhile to resolve the issue. Almost everyday I look for an update to El Capitan with the hope that this will fix the problem. I like that widget. At least it is not something wrong with my computer.....glad for that.

Well.... my trusty 7yo Macbook Pro is still on OS 10.6.8, and I'm having the same problem right now. Tried to change the city, but it says "No cities found" when I type in the zip or city/state.

Same here, looks like Apple has "pulled the plug" from us Snow Leopard users.

I don't think it has anything to do with the flavor of OS X. I just got a brand-spanking-new macbook pro two days ago and it's still broken.

You're right, I guess it's just Apple "forcing users" to forget about dashboard and use the notification center in OS X El Capitan (once updated)

Apple OS X Weather Widgets permits display of weather forcasts for only one city, Cupertino, CA. Any attempt to enter another city or zip code, even re-entry of Cupertino, CA (or it's zip code) yields "No City Found." This undesired result appears to occur in all Apple Mac OS X (operating systems) that previously permitted / displayed Weather Channel 7-day forecast for desired (city name or zip code) locations. Not sure where the problem (code/server) lies, Apple, Yahoo, or the Weather Channel.
