Q: "No cities found" in Dashboard Weather Widget

I cannot change the city in the Weather widget on the Dashboard but it says "No cities found" if I type in any city.

Tried deleting the Dashboard and Weather Widget .PLISTs and restarting but it didn't work. Set up my network connection anew but no dice. Creating a new user didn't help either.

Apple OS X Weather Widgets permits display of weather forcasts for only one city, Cupertino, CA. Any attempt to enter another city or zip code, even re-entry of Cupertino, CA (or it's zip code) yields "No City Found."  This undesired result appears to occur in all Apple Mac OS X (operating systems) that previously permitted / displayed Weather Channel 7-day forecast for desired (city name or zip code) locations. Not sure where the problem (code/server) lies, Apple, Yahoo, or the Weather Channel.

    The problem lies with Yahoo.

Lanny, Thanks for the info. Guess we Mac OS X users should all send emails to Marissa Mayer & Yahoo.

It's not just Yahoo. The Weatherbug widget went out the same time. On another thread somebody reported that the Weatherbug widget had been discontinued but a new one was available in the App Store. I looked into it; it's still free, and compatible with OSX 10.10 (Yosemite, right?) Unfortunately, I'm one national park behind and have been reluctant to upgrade because if something goes wrong...

IT'S BACK! The Yahoo! Weather Channel's working again, at least on Mavericks. (I know this is a Yosemite thread but thought I'd report here anyway.)

And this is what I was waiting for. Since the issue is independent of OS, this just means the temporary outage is over. Everybody add that widget back!

Thanks for reporting the slight improvement... typing in the city seems to work again.  But not a ZIP code.  And the name of the city doesn't appear in the widget: here's Putnam Station, NY (12861)...

I'll take the damaged functionality for now and hope for its complete repair.

Mine works now too. Also, I used my zip code and it worked that way.

    Wooo!

I'm having this problem now too.  I tried to add an additional weather widget and it came up as Cupertino.  When I clicked on the i, and tried to change it, it gave me only 2 options, New Delhi, India and Dublin, Ireland.  I was trying for Washington, D.C.  is this an Apple thing or a Yahoo thing?  Thanks.
