Unable to retrieve conflict information from the sync server

When syncing my Iphone-6 it says I have contact conflicts which I try to resolve and then I get the message "Unable to retrieve conflict information from the sync server again and again during every sync. Please try again next time the conflict resolver window is presented". I have reset the Sync History but hasn't helped. Suggestions?

I was earlier using IPhone-4/4s/5/5s and didn't see this issue and this is something first time i

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.1
