Q: Messages flood in when computer starts?

If I have been gone and texting from my phone or iPad all day, and return home and open my Macbook Air, there is a flood of messages that come through from every text conversation I have had throughout the day. Is there a way to not have this happen? Is this an error of some sort?

Thanks.

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

    Hi,

    It is not an error.

Messages is working just as it should (although this may not be the way you want)

The Servers use a process called Push to send the iMessages to registered devices.

They keep doing so until the device Responds.

The "Sync" is only "Display On all devices" so what you do on one device does not correspond to another device.

This does allow you to Store the Chat/conversations on the Mac with it's greater storage space whilst deleting as you go on your iPhone.

However the other side of the coin is what you see when you spend most of the time on an iPhone or work Mac and then get home to your regular one.

All the iMessages in the conversations you have been having arrive on the Mac.
