You won't be able to use it again as iWeb 08 is not compatible with Yosemite.  If you want an iWeb version that will work with Yosemite, then you'll have to buy iWeb 09 and as Apple no longer sell or support iWeb, then you will have to buy either the iLife 11 or iLife 09 boxed set from Amazon.

Either you do this or you look for alternative software such as EverWeb.

I suggest you move to a new app like EverWeb as Ethmoid suggested. There are parts of iWeb 3 that a no longer working since the MobileMe servers have gone off line around 2 years ago.

The with the effort and cost involved in getting iWeb 3.0.4 installed you would be better off migrating to a supported and modern web development application.

Thanks so much. I have downloaded free version of Everweb to try and it looks good. There is a helpful video tutorial explaining how to copy website from iWeb, however, as I can't open iWeb at all, do you know if there is a way of accessing it?

If your website is published, then all you need do is download the website from your host and copy and paste in to EverWeb directly from the html files themselves.

Hi Ethmoid - I am sorry I haven't responded to your helpful answer and apologies for being a dinosaur when it comes to this, but how do I actually download the website from the host please? I use Firezilla to upload the website to the host - I can see the files on the host's public area but don't know what to do with them!

    Thank you for your time.
