Nov 28, 2014 10:37 AM in response to Kappyby bigoak107,Thanks for the help. I have Pages and it will not open Apple Works files. As for Open Office, it opened the files but not in any format that I could read, some letters and numbers but mostly # marks. I used several formats including Western Europe (Apple Macintosh). I was at a friends house, yesterday with family and friends for Thanksgiving and mentioned Open Office when the discussion was about computers, etc. A few people had used it and said it was good so I thank you again for letting me know about this program.

Nov 28, 2014 6:37 PM in response to bigoak107by Peggy,If you are using any version of Pages 5 you will not be able to open AppleWorks or ClarisWorks files of any kind. AppleWorks 6 files, but not any AppleWorks 5 or ClarisWorks files can be opened by all previous versions of Pages.
I did not say to use Open Office. I said to use LibreOffice & gave the link to the download. LibreOffice is a much more capable "Office clone."
