Why my iphone 4 unexpected shutdown on by itself?

My iphone 4 suddenly (even thought the battery is full) shut down and then i have to put it in charge in order to open again on by itself. What is the fault here?

iPhone 4 (8GB), iOS 7.1.2

Given the age of the phone and the use, could be a battery problem. You should get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store.

Thank you for your response. In the first sight the same i assumed me too but as i put it in charging and it restart again on by itself the battery is still full as it is before the shut down. That's why i am a little concerned.

Yes, you should get it checked, this might be hardware related after all.

I pressed the home button and power button together until the apple logo appeared. It works thanks to God...
