Q: Maps

The MAPS (version 2) program that apparently come with Yosemite OS X only loads a grid with no graphics in any mode.  How can I redownload the program?

It used to work in the past.

It is part of the OS and can't be downloaded separately. Do a backup. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Then re-install the OS.

    Hi Eric,

I am sure the advice you gave me will or would have worked.  Just on a whim, I used Yosemite Cache Cleaner program and used the "Repair Permissions" section as you suggested.  My Maps program now works again.  I don't know whether the fix will be stable; we'll see.  I'm sure that re-installing Yosemite after using the recovery disc etc. would have been an excellent choice and perhaps a more stable solution.  We'll see what happens.  Everything else seems to work fine in Mavericks so far.

    Regards,

    Jerry
