Show view options, shows wrong folder

I'd like to change view/arrange options for a particular folder. I am in browse view. I click on the folder to highlight it, then control + click to reveal the contextual menu, and select "Show View Options". The view options that appears is for the root folder. How can I change the view options for just one particular folder please?
