java SE 6 runtime
I just installed Yosemite and now I have this popup every 5 seconds that says I need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime! What? I can't even type for the popup constantly interrupting.
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Holy crap! Thank you!!! Your link worked. I have been searching on the Support Pages for a fix and your link is the first one that actually worked. It has stopped! Yahoo! Owe you a beer.
How's this for irony? Like others, I was prompted by Photoshop to download the Java thing. I clicked on the "more info" button, and APPLE Safari wouldn't take me to the support.apple.com/kb/DL1572. I even tried the link in these posts, and it doesn't go anywhere, blank page with the address in the bar. So I opened Chrome and pasted the link into the address box, and amazing, it took me to the website at APPLE for the download. (I've been having problems with Safari since upgrading to Yosemite; it hangs up and refuses to load some pages, but not all)
I used to brag to all my PC friends that Apple was the best... the past couple years are proving me wrong.
Are you using any Safari Extensions that may be broken in the newer OSY?
The only extension I'm running is AdBlock, and I didn't get it right away after installing Yosemite and consequently having problems with Safari.
So... you had the problem before Ad Block?
I'm fairly sure I got Ad Block after installing Yosemite but couldn't swear to it.
As a test try disabling it.
I think we have the problem. I disabled Ad Block and restarted Safari. It is now running significantly faster and no hung up pages.
Thanks for the suggestion; it's been driving me insane.
Great to hear, thanks for the report... love AdBlock myself, but I think Apple enjoys breaking 3rd party stuff. 😟
You rock, thank you.
