Q: Why are only new photos showing in my shared albums?

I set up a new macbook air with my iCloud and iPhoto account. I have many shared albums that I started with the same account. The albums show up in iPhoto (in the "Shared" iCloud section, but they are empty. When someone posts a new photo, it does sync. For instance, one of the albums has 120 photos in it because that is how many have been loaded since setting up the account, but there are actually over 500 in the album that I can see on my phone, iPad, or other laptop.

in the iPhoto preferences turn off photo streams, log out of iCloud and restart the Mac log into iCloud and turn on PS to kick start the process

That was he first thing I did. No luck.

I should probably have mentioned it was working when I first logged into iCloud on this machine, then inexplicably stopped loading new pictures after about a month. So I did what you recommended above, and it erased all of the old pictures and only loads newly posted ones. I tried again and no luck.
