Q: Cannot delete sync'd photos on iPhone - even via iTunes

Using iP5 w/ OS 8.1.1 and cannot delete photos that were previously synched.  Tried following suggestions using iTunes, but I'm not able to view the photos in iTunes and therefore cannot manually delete them. Was able to manually delete photos that were taken by the phone by selecting them and putting in Trash; but I don't get the ability to Trash those photos that were previously synched.  Other ideas?

iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.1

AAre these photos that you did a sync from the computer you are currently using? If you look at the folders, do they still exist on the computer. In iTunes you remove the check mark from the folder and sync again. If the folder no longer exists then create an empty folder, select it, sync the empty folder and it should remove the other photos. Then remove the check from the empty folder, sync and it will remove the empty one too. No more photos.
