iOS 8.1.1 on iPad 3

After i updated my iPad 3 with the latest version of iOS, 8 (currently 8.1.1) I noticed more than few bugs in the performance. These include:

-lagging animation of first folder opened after boot

-lagging animation on closing apps

-keyboard opening lag

-slower Safari Browser (+ animations)

-slower opening of apps

I reduced the motions, butit only removes the system animations, not all of performance issues.

Any info if there will be major update fix for iPad 3, because the last one was not so intended for this model?

My iPad 3rd generation runs fine with IOS 8.1.1.

Have you done these basic troubleshooting steps?

Restart / Reset

Restore from backup

Restore as new

HI,

Firstly I'm sorry your having these issues, and Apple obviously wants to help resolve things like this.

What we've seen so far, is that Resetting the settings on the iPad or Reinstalling the software package from iTunes on a computer can and has resolved this for many customers. I hope this helps!?

Hi Restore to Factory, Settings Back up to iCloud, first on ipad This will get rid of any bugs and make ipad like new. Use your Same Apple id then you will get all your Apps, & data back Do this over your WiFi Cheers Brian

I Am having issues too. on iBooks the buttons don't appear at the bottom. So i can't go back to the store from the library. My facebook app also stopped working. Tried to delete the app but the x on the apps don't appear and no way to delete apps.

same Here. My iPad 3 was perfect with iOS 8.1, simply perfect. ios8.1.1 completely broke my iPad, very very laggy animations!!! ios 8.2 beta same problem.

what's going on Apple???!!! Fix immediately the problem.

I don't know about you, abut although restoring the iPad from iTunes fixed some of the bugs, it still needs a lot of improvement over most of them. I'm just tirelessly waiting for these bad experiences to fade away from it, cause I'm still regreting over upgrading to iOS8!

I see that Restoring and Resetting option doesn't work, at least for me. Three months waiting for a real bug fix of these lags and slow downs, but still no quality response from Apple. If they won't solve these problems, definetly I'm going to the Apple's closest rivals, that's for sure. Just hoping and with least patience left they won't blow it up like a company of a small calibre. it's your last chance Apple!

Its a big problem with ios 8.1.1 / 8.1.2, i have an ipad 4 and i have the same issues, ios 6,7 were great, ios 8 was a little bit more slower (8.0/8.1). Ios 8.1.1 ruined my ipad, laggy animations (folders/unlocking). I hope apple could listen to us & fix this problem in next ios version (8.1.3/8.2)

hi guys, however after tryed to restore the iPad as following your suggestions the lagging still appear, i've reported to Apple this bug hope they resolve in the next iOS releas
