windows cannot find C:\users\bob\appdata\local\geniusbox\client.exe

When I boot and at times during normal operations I get the following message:

windows cannot find C:\users\bob\appdata\local\geniusbox\client.exe

I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes. It still gives me that message. Would sure like to get rid of it.

It doesn't effect the normal computer operation, but **** annoying to say the least.

Thanks for any help you can supply. I am out of solutions on this end.

User uploaded fileThe reason I suspected iTunes was the "Geniusbox" part of the message. I guess not huh? To answer your question it appears at random. There seems to be no set schedule or time. I can have a clear desktop, go away for a few minutes, come back and there it is. It does not appear when I run iTunes, at least not yet. Go figure!

After that message it also says "Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again" I'm not sure what name they are looking for. The error message I get is pictured above

Thanks for any continued help.

I did as you suggested with the link. GeniousBox did not show up under extensions. So I reset my Chrome browser to default settings. I had to reset my home page and search engine as expected. We'll see if it shows up again. If it does, as Arnold says "I'll be back"

Well, next day and I'm back. I still get the same pop-up from GeniusBox. Any other suggestions?

Well, I think the problem might be solved. I haven't got that pop-up for a day of operating now. I could not find GenusBox anywhere in uninstall programs. I kept searching and finally the only thing it came up with was two registry entries. I deleted them to the recycle bin and Bingo, no more pop-up...as of now, everything seems to be operating normally without those two entries. I still have them in the recycle bin just in case things go amok. But I think my problem is solved. Keep your fingers crossed.

I want to thank Turingtest2 for your help and suggestions. I wouldn't have known where to start without it. Thank You so much.

If things go amok again, I may be back, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks again!!!
