What if you are locked out of your account because that 4 digit code was forgotten and has made your account unable to be used to unlock my own ipad mini?
iPod classic, Windows 7
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.
what if I have just done that and have nothing to wipe technically...?
Steps I took:
1. Reset it using something I found online (probably missed the restoring the ipad part) I'm pretty sure they were the same as this
2. Turn off Ipad
3. had computer and Itunes running and have already downloaded and restored using latest version of Itunes
4. unpluged Ipad from computer (but the cord was still plugged into the computer) hold down home button while plugging ipad back into computer
5. then it loaded back to the hello screen where it won't allow me to log in using my own email to login

it says that it cannot be used by the account it is linked to (which I am the owner of) and I got locked out because I forgot the 4 digit code and maxed out the password attempts. Which I wasn't sure was possible
