Hi Maurice:
I haven't been in the forums for a while and forgot how to 'edit' my response in time, so i apologize for the redundant parts. i'll improve with practice, now that I've returned .
I wanted to add a few more suggestions and back up my fellow posters. To be honest, when I purchased my used my mid-2010 mbp, I went directly to the atm (bank machine) with the seller; more on that later.
i don't know how well yours is set up but in addition to craig's list and eBay, there's Kijiji, now known as the eBayclassifieds. Here's the link:

You don't say where you are so i suspect you're in the US. i did a quick google search and you have kijiji set up there. Kappy's suggestion of eBay is good because eBay might net you the best price but systems sell relatively quickly on kijiji and craig's list. you should also use a site that gives you a reasonable amount to ask for your system. i'm in Canada so our sites won't work for you but the transfer of funds is immediate: you can literally watch it being deposited into your account. so for example, if the buyer tells you he/she can't withdraw "more than $500/day" there's no excuse here in Canada because they can literally 'send you' the funds while you use your system, phone, or iPad (any tablet or smart phone can do it here as well. i know that US banking is quite different than Cdn banking procedures are quite different. But as Prince1991 says, good, cold, hard cash is best. I went directly to the atm (bank machine). The seller drove me the few blocks to my bank's machine. I believe eBay also has Paypal, which has proven to be a secure method of payment. It also offers dispute/resolution, which I had to use for one transaction that I won but the seller didn’t send the item. I went to thru the PayPal dipute resolution whereby they contacted the seller. Bottom line, I didn’t lose my money although I was admittedly, very stressed throughout the waiting period. So although it happens, eBay has more safety/security nets in place that try to protect their clientele. Why not post them to all three sites? I don’t believe there's anything preventing you (legally) from posting on all three sites. It will only serve to increase your exposure and thus, chances to sell or trade quickly. I haven’t used eBay in years but there might be something governing the amount of time you have to leave your item up for bid. i would ask kappy; he's extremely knowledgeable about everything.
I apologize for the inconsistencies with my spelling/grammar issues, and capitalizations. I've fallen into the category of lazy/spoiled by my iPad and Blackberry, which corrects all of the things i've just mentioned and more.
Regardless as to where you end up selling, best of luck and let us know how you did.
Kind regards,
Ciaochiao
