How to use iPad without finger touching?

Hello, I am trying to make an adaption for a child who is unable to use their arms so that they can use an iPad. So far, I created a pointer out of a hat and a drum and I am trying to find something that can be attached to the drum that reacts to the iPad.

I tried using a pen with aluminum foil but I realized that you need something that conducts heat.

I called the Apple store to ask if they had a conductive stylus but I was told that they no longer hold them. Is there anything that can be attached to the drum that would react to the iPad when it comes into contact?

how do you mean 'not touching it'?

A stylus that moves by itself? Or something that would be the equivalent of a mouse? To manipulate the screen without actually touching it?

Because you can use a capicative stylus - the ones with the soft rubber tips - to manipulate the iPad's screen without your fingers touching the screen, but they have to touch the stylus.

Maybe some explanation would help folks come up with suggestions.
