Netflix HTML5 why not mid 2010 MBP??
Netflix states the requirements for playing HTML5 video to include Safari 8 & OS X 10.10 AND 2011 or newer Mac w/Sandy Bridge or better???
What the heck do we need more processing power for something that uses LESS processing power to perform??????
I can play 1080p HTML5 Youtube videos, AND, they don't spin up the fans like SD flash or silverlight do. I can also play 1080p DD5.1 iTunes video using less processing power than playing SD flash video.
So, what is the REAL reason we need a newer Mac?
Is it because of some kind of newer HDCP encryption that HD streaming content contains? Something that requires a hardware decryption chip that older than 2011 Macs don't have?
Please, don't tell me my Mac just doesn't have enough processing power, again it takes LESS power to play 1080p HTML5 video than it does to play 360/480p SD flash or silverlight video, so that excuse is ridiculous!
So, someone at Apple or Netflix needs to give us specific reasons for this. Macs made since 2008 (Intel Core2 Duo) should be able to play HTML5 1080p video using less processing power than playing flash or silverlight 360/480p SD video. Period. No B.S. excuses. Tell us plainly what the ef?
