Dear Forum,
Can i make a Smart search iPhoto Album with Several Faces and a Date Range? i can do one or the other, but it appears not both. I can ask it to find 'ANY' [not ALL] of the queries when i select a face, then another and another face... but i then cant add a date range as its finding 'any' query.

Sorry, no, you cannot nest queries and have both "and" and "any" in one smart album.
As a work-around, use keywords to mark all faces of the group you are looking for - for example tag all family members with the keyword family. Then you can create a smart album with "keyword is Family" and "date is in the range".
Or create a regular album with all faces from the group you are looking for. Then create a smart album with "album is Familyalbum" and "date is in the range".
Unfortunately you cannot include smart albums into the smart rule of an album.
