Q: iDVD messing up chapter marks, making them useless
iDVD 7.1 - I"m trying to burn a DVD of a movie I created with iMovie HD 6.0.4, under OSX 10.7.5. I haven't used these applications in a long while but all was going well until I got a message saying that some assets in the project had changed and asked if I wanted to update the project, with a warning that this may affect any chapter marks in the movie. There were only two choices: Update or Cancel. Update certainly did mess up the chapter marks. They now all take me to the same spot in the video -- in other words, the chapter selections on the screen menu are totally useless. So I spent several hours "recovering" my project. All works well on the computer (in "preview" mode in iDVD). But when I click the 'Burn' button, I get the same message about changed assets, and the same warning. There's only two choices: Update or Cancel. Sure enough, the chapter marks became totally useless because when no matter which video menu selection I choose, it always takes me to the same spot (chapter) in the video. So how can I proceed without messing up the chapter points? (Please don't say get a later version of iMovie -- been there, tried that, bought the book, still hated it. Much prefer iMovie HD. And I know there are MANY other people out there who are sticking with these older versions of iMovie/iDVD -- hope they can help me with this problem!!). Thanks for any help.
BTW, it's also been a long while since I used the Apple Discussion Forum. Can't say I like this new format. Much harder to find specific advice, I think.
