Dec 1, 2014 8:43 AM in response to GreenEarthlingby Lanny,I have a 2006 Macbook that has had its mother board replaced and has had many upgrades. It runs very well. It is not running Snow Leopard. Is there an app that can scan my computer and determine if it can run Yosemite? What is the risk if I attempt to install Yosemite and it's not compatible?
A 2006 MacBook (1,1 Model ID) can't run Yosemite.
A Late 2006 MacBook (2,1 Model ID) would be limited to Lion.

Not quite, the 2010 White Macbook will run Yosemite (and can be expanded to 16GB of Ram). AFAIK only that particular MB can.
