I don't know what causes this, same thing happened to me. But when I turned on an option called "reduce white point " those lines became too dim and it was just nearly impossible to see them , you can try it out

Well what I did was turn my phone off for an hour. Then they went away. It was letting the phone cool down. I think the phones was too hot.

I have the exact same problem. Added that my screen was unresponsive before I power shut down. Then, it started working, but the lines became stripes. The phone did not drop or anything like that. The itune icon is stuck in the background, even after disconnecting from Itunes. Volume now is changing on its own too

Hello. My phone looks EXACTLY like this. The lines are a perfect match, line for line. I was just looking at Facebook when suddenly the lines appeared. In about 2 minutes, they were thick and heavy. I did not drop my phone. Did you ever find a fix for this? I have tried restarting and restoring.

Basically i recently found out about this and its not exactly this but its happening on lots of Iphones where on the top of the screen there is a flickering line. Apple are offering no repair or solution mainly because they do not know what is causing it, but some believe its due to the bending of the phone when warm. whether its the same or not i don't know but it is certainly very similar.

The main thing you forgot to mention is that you have permanently forfeited your right to have the device serviced or replaced by apple by tampering with it.

iPhones are not user serviceable. If you want to take the risk of destroying your phone completely and forfeiting the ability to get it replaced, that's your choice, but advising people here to do it is just plain irresponsible.

I just did a complete restore, and it is worse than before! Now I have the stripes, plus I can see "ghost words" from a previous screen!

I have the same problem. I was using Instagram that suddenly these lines appeared on my screen! I tried restarting my phone, but it didn't help and made the lines thicker !!!

I have the same issue now on my iPhone 7.

It just started suddenly.

I've tried restarting the iPhone and resetting the iPhone to factory settings and it's still happening.

Please let me know what can I do to solve the issue ?
