I have a MDP 13" Retina and need to rebuild the OS.
Where can i get hold of Maverick DVDs?

Mavericks was never released on DVD. At present it is not available as a download either.

If your Mac came with Mavericks, or you bought Mavericks from the App Store, then backup your system to an external drive and then reinstall Mavericks by holding down Command + R at startup and follow the Internet recovery prompts from there. Make sure you have a good internet connection. If your Mac did not come with Mavericks or you never purchased it then you cannot obtain a copy at present.
