Q: New phone set up ios 8.0.2  - incompatible icloud backups ios 8.1.1.

I am trying to set up my new iphone 6 plus (ios8.0.2 out of the box) from an icloud backup of my iphone 5 (ios 8.1.1.)

 

The backups is incompatible as the new phone is at a lower ios than the backup "no icloud backups are compatible with the version of ios (8.0.2) on this phone"

 

Thanks for any suggestions

    Setup the iPhone as new (no restore). Update to iOS 8.1.1. Reset the iPhone to setup state with Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

     

    The iPhone can now be setup and restored with your iOS 8.1.1 backup.
