Oct 11, 2015 1:13 AM in response to Sweetpeas13by Jmgauthier23,I wanted to reply to this, did you get your $ back! recently I got screwed into this also. Same thing. ... And I called apple support right after. And they via. connected with my computer and looked around and said all was okay. That "support buddy" "fixed" what they did to my computer.
i Feel like an idiot. Literally just happened few hours ago. I changed my computer passwords and more. Just to make sure. But the top guy at apple support. (Real One) said that he couldn't 100% tell me that all was okay. But that I should be good to go. ...
did anything after happen again to your computer ? Days after weeks or months ?

Jan 15, 2016 1:33 PM in response to Sweetpeas13by michaelgmitchell,Fascinating. I knew it. Glad I pulled out when I felt a bit uneasy.
Same thing with me, browsing, got this panic pop-up, call 1-855-902-4667, blah-blah. I decided I'd better just in case. The Support Buddy people, a gentleman's voice, putting me through some steps, went to a site .. http://www.remote.supportbuddy.net/ .. he gave me a code to punch in and carry on to download a file, etc. That's when I got a bit nervous. Told him I wasn't comfortable moving forward, that I needed to do some research first on Support Buddy. He got agitated, couldn't understand my logic. I politely bid him goodbye, that site still sitting on my Safari browser. I just knew something scammy was happening, not trusting a complete stranger on a toll-free phone. This is so unnerving. Really.
