How do you sign out of your old apple id if your old id is no longer valid?

My old Apple id is no longer valid as the email I used has been discontinued by the service provider. I now use a new apple id to log onto my devices and FaceTime but unable to do the same for iCloud. It keeps asking for my old Apple id password which a) I have forgotten and b) i can no longer retrieve given as the old Apple id is invalid.

What do i do?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.1

If I have example123@comcast.net (not my email nor Apple ID), & get rid of comcast so I no longer have access to the email, I log into appleid.apple.com & rename it to example123@gmail.com (not my email nor Apple ID). If I've forgotten to sign out of iCloud on my iDevices, all I have to do is log into appleid.apple.com with example123@gmail.com, rename my Apple ID to example123@comcast.net (skip verifying) go to settings then iCloud & sign out (It will be your current password incase you didn't know...) it will allow you to do so..

If I on the other hand, create a NEW Apple ID & not rename it, best options to call apple & have them assist with trying to reset password so you can sign out.

It isnt made clear to me in his question. (In my opinion) He does say "my new Apple ID" but people can call their newly renamed emails/ Apple IDs, their new Apple ID..

The go back to appleid.apple.com & log in with old email (& same password) & rename Apple ID back to what you want it to be.

That can never work if the email is no longer functional, as you will not be able to validate it. And even if you could you would need to remove the email address from the old Apple Id that has it to be able to use it with another apple id. And since the OP cannot log in to the old Apple Id, they cannot remove it.
