Outlook 2011 for Mac continues to give me errors only when connecting to Yahoo mail
Error Code 16999 - Inactivity timeout
Error Code 3253 - Connection to server failed or was dropped
Error Code 17895 - Connection to server failed or was dropped
New to iMac, easy solutions?

Still having problems and now receiving multiple e-mails unless I delete them from Yahoo online.
Surely there is an easy solution... help required!

This seems like a Yosemite problem since Outlook worked fine until operating system was upgraded.
Needless to say I searched several areas on Microsoft support and was unable to find a solution, could you narrow down your solution rather than just Microsoft support?
Any possible solutions at Apple?

Now receiving multiple e-mails unless I delete them from Yahoo online.
I am having the same problem, but only sporadically.
Most of the time it works, then I'll get error 3253 "Connection to the server failed or was dropped" 4 or 5 times in a row, then it works fine again.
Doesn't make sense.
I'm going to check out the Microsoft forums suggested by Eric Root.
I may have a solution.
Last night, I deleted over 2500 emails from my Sent and Inbox folders. I then used Microsoft Database Utility to rebuild the Main Identity.
That appears to have done the trick. Haven't had an error since doing this.
I also received an answer on Microsoft Forums that confirms this fix.

The problem has returned.
I thought an answer on Microsoft Forums had solved my problem but, as I said, the problem has returned.
It doesn't just happen when I hit Send/Receive. It also happens when a scheduled Send and Receive All occurs. Not every time, but intermittently.
I would appreciate any advice on this issue. It is affecting my iMac and my MacBook Pro.
My service provider (Optimum) sent a technician to my house. He checked the lines outside and said he found a bad connection. The problem went away for most of the day, but then returned. Another Optimum technician returned the next day and worked on the lines down the road for the next two days.
After that, the errors stopped.
I'm almost afraid to say that it has been fixed, it's been two days without an error.
Keeping fingers crossed.
