Dec 8, 2014 8:08 AM in response to TheLoneRogerby TheLoneRoger,Oh wait...
When I replace the 'Missing' clips, they do not replace! ***?
The clips play from the Browser, but when i drag them over the missing file and select 'Replace from Start' or whatever, nothing happens! The clip stays missing. This is seriously messed up...

Dec 8, 2014 8:13 AM in response to TheLoneRogerby TheLoneRoger,Funnier still, if I overwrite with these clips, they appear there on the timeline for a minute or so - and then turn into 'missing' files

Dec 8, 2014 10:19 AM in response to TheLoneRogerby Tom Wolsky,IIn library properties change the cache location, but do not copy over the existing files.
it sounds as if you're saying clips are missing in the project not the browser. Make sure you relink the library not just individual events.

Dec 9, 2014 3:59 AM in response to Tom Wolskyby TheLoneRoger,Sorry, but I am utterly confused now.
In FCPX I have a backup loaded that contains the project file and one of the events.
The other event used in the project is on a different volume - some, but not all of the media from this volume is shown as missing, and even if I re-import the missing files, they will play from the browser, but not in the project
So my question is, where exactly should all the media files be, and what setting should I have in the Library Properties?

Dec 9, 2014 4:10 AM in response to Tom Wolskyby TheLoneRoger,Got it now.
The problem was that when I had tried to re-link files before, it wasn't seeing any missing files - until I selected 'all'.
Thanks for your patience. Sometimes I miss the simplicity of FCP7!
