The Remote App for iTunes is the most frustrating piece of software on my iPhone. The percentage of times I can connect with my iTunes computer from my phone is probably 60%. The other 40% I get a message saying there was a problem connecting and to turn home sharing on or I get no message with simply no connection. I am running iOs 8.1.1 on my iphone 5S, OS X, Yosemite, 10.10.1 on a Mac Mini, iTunes 12.0.1.26 and an updated remote App. This issue is not new to this software; This non-connectivity is many months and years old and doesn't seem to be related to current iOs or OS-X versions.
