Q: Burning multiple video clips on one disc

Hi Guys,

I have 12x3 minute music videos (about 300 mb. each) which I want to burn onto one DVD.

I am unsure of the correct method. I have tried using Toast but it didn't work.

The 12 videos have all been exported using Quicktime conversion and were shot in HDV.

Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Should work. I do it all the time.

    How is it not working?

Are you trying to make a DVD that will play on a set-top DVD player? Or just burn the files to a DVD disc for use on a computer?

Standard workflow - for a DVD that plays in a set-top DVD player:

Export a QuickTime movie from the editor without Conversion and Self-Contained.

Open Toast, click on the Video Tab

    Choose DVD

Drag in file(s) to the Toast window

Set the menu (if you want one)

Click on Burn, Toast encodes the files for the DVD and then burns the disk.

    Hello Meg,

Thanks for writing. I found the problem, the Toast programme was defaulting to "Video CD". I changed it to "DVD Video" and it is working fine now.

    Thanks for that.

Also, a quick question about this project, which I am hoping to take to a DVD manufacturer and print multiple copies. Should I give them my Toast disc with the 12 videos to use as the Master to print from? Or should I give them the 12 videos on 12 separate DVD's (at the highest quality) to make their own Master disc?

Would they use a programme that has better quality than Toast, or is Toast ok for commercial use?

You need to contact your replicator.

Different companies have different guidelines, and these will also very by quantity of duplicates being made.
