I have been setting up tax info, and in the Canadian tax form GST506, it requests a business number. I am just a sole developer residing in Canada looking to have a paid / iAd supported app on the App Store, and don't have a business number. Will I need to register for one through the CRA? Will I have to create a business name? Anyone else who has been through this I would appreciate some guidance on what exactly to do.
Apologies, I seem to have found the answer already, so I will leave this up incase anyone in the similar boat comes across this issue.
Revenue Canada offers a very easy to fill online form to create a GST/HST Business Number at http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/bsnss/tpcs/bn-ne/bro-ide/rstrctns/chcklst-eng.html, took me less than 10 minutes and a number was automatically generated. Did not have to create one as revenue will likely be less than $30,000 a year, but might as well voluntarily create one as Apple appears to require one.
