Q: How do you delete a song off your ipad that is not listed on the itunes song list?

Some songs came already loaded with my new ipad air that I hate and want to delete but can't locate the directory where they reside.  I downloaded a file manager app but it only had the option to add new folders, not access the one's already on the ipad.  I signed up for icloud and even bought itunes match at the direction of a blog someone wrote as a way to access the icloud song list and delete the songs.  I deleted the album purchase (that I never made in the first place) listed in the purchase section of iTunes.  The songs are not listed on my PC version of itunes so I can't delete them from there (right click and choose delete).  They are only on the ipad itself.  Why is it so difficult to simply remove a file from your ipad?  Is there a way to delete these songs or am I stuck with them on my ipad music list?  I reset the entire setup thinking it would erase everything on my ipad but that didn't work either.  Please advise.  Thanks.

Does it play on the iPad?

What happens when you swipe it left and fight? You should get a Delete or Remove button. If Remove then there will be a cloud icon by the song after you remove the sound file from the iPod.

If it is U2 album then:

    Remove U2 Album

The songs all play fine.  I read somewhere if you swipe right to left it would reveal a delete button or something.  But that doesn't do anything.  I've tried holding it several seconds as with an iphone but that doesn't work.  There are now cloud icons by each of over 100 songs including the songs I want to delete but they are not listed on the PC iTunes list.

Go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and turn Off Show All.

With it On iTunes purchased songs not on the device will have a cloud icon by them. If you tap the icon the song downloads/plays if you have an interent connection.

Yes it's a U2 album and the link works!  Thank you.  Do you know what is going on with all that and why is it on there in the first place, and most of all why it is so difficult to remove (by difficult I mean learning with your kind help how to remove it)?

Turning show off it removed about 90 songs leaving only 4 available to play.  It did however remove the U2 songs that remained after I went to the link you provided.  Any idea why the songs are still there after going to the link and filling out the removal form?

Thanks again for your help.  There are still 2 songs left on the ipad after the removal link was submitted.  The message says that if they are still there that they must be removed manually.  Do you know how to remove the files manually?
