My 'Projects & Events' folder is 200GB! What is safe to delete from this folder?

Hi all!

The Projects and Events folder on FCPX is nearly 200GB - which is taking up a large chunk of space. I am wanting to delete a fair amount from this folder, as it is the biggest on my mac. Which folders/files are safe to delete of compress?

Any and all help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Gage

You can safely delete all render files and optimised media - although depending on your setup and your original media, you might need to re-render (or optimise) to be able to play your footage back.

Render files tend to accumulate as you make edits. A new file is generated each time, if you have "background render" checked in preferences.

You can delete render and optimised (generated) files in either the Event or the Project (or both) by selecting one and then going to:

File > Delete Generated Files (or similar - I don't have FCP X open at the moment).

Whatever you do, don't delete your original media files!
