I trued to transfer a folder from my Mac to my iPhone via airdrop. The process did get completed but now I am not able to find my folder on my iPhone under any appl. pl. guide me if any one has any clue.

What exactly was in the folder? Since you can't directly access the file system on the phone, you'll have to use apps that can open the files in question to view/edit them. You will not be able to view the folder itself. Only the files.

There were PDF files in the folder. I searched iBooks and other apps which can open PDF FILES. But it is not there.
Thanks. i went through your link. That suggests me that even though the transfer of folder through air drop was completed, it may not have been transferred to my phone. Am I right?
On iPhone, the File System is not exposed so there is no way to access a folder.
That is correct. but I just wanted to know, whether that folder is transferred on my phone or not. if yes, then I hope it is not eating away storage space on my phone, as unidentified folder.
Can't really say, since I am not an Apple engineer and also it is not supported.

I have also copied a Folder of size 2.0GB which has Photos only from my Mac to my iPhone using Air drop. The progress when for a while and completed. But I couldn't see the folder/photos on my iPhone. Not sure where it went.. And the worst part is my 2 GB space is also gone. Could you please help me to fetch the folder or release the 2GB memeory so that I can copy the photos alone instead of copying as folder.
