Matshida BD-MLT UJ265 Won't Accept Discs

Hello,

I just installed a Matshida BD-MLT UJ265 optical drive. (Super Drive Super Died) These have been advertised as plug 'n' play for Apple products.

The issue I am having is the drive will only only accept discs during boot up or wake up mode. Other than that during the rest of the time

the drive wont function. The system does acknowledge it, but under Disk Repair the drive is grayed out.

Has anyone had any issues with these drives???

Am I missing something??? Firmware, etc.???
