Q: record audio while watching the video

I thought this would be easy, but obviously I am wrong.

i have video that I have edited in Final cut X. Yes it has an option to record audio over it with the VO, but the background noise is terrible. I thought that audition would be able to do this, as a higher quality sound software, but i am unable to work out or find tutorials on how to have a video playing, so that I can record audio that is going to be synced with that video.

i think on windows they use pro tools or something similar. So just wanted to know if there is something that allows me to watch the video track I want to record audio onto, and record an audio track at the same time.

hope that makes sense

Audition will not record better than FCPX.  Any audio software will only record what the mic feeds it.  The issue is at the microphone, not in your software.  What microphone are you using?  If it isn't up to par, not much you can do about that.

    1st, us a pop filter.

2nd, hand a quilt or blanket around you to isolate the sound better.  Or get a Reflexion Filter.

3rd, learn proximity effect.  The closer you are to the mic, the more bass, the further, the more trebble.

But if you are simply getting too much room noise (background noise), that is in your physical set up, and no software will magically fix that for you.  You need to control your environment better.
